Week 1 Beginning to draw: Pencil exercises. Contour and Gesture technique. Basic geometric shapes, Shading, Value, Texture.
Week 2: Still-life objects. Organizing the picture field.
Week 3: Charcoal Pencil - drawing from photos.
Week 4:Drawing landscapes with oil pastels and chalk.

$5 supply fee, paid to instructor on first day of class.

Provincetown White Line Woodblock Printmaking with Suzanne Lewis
Saturday, October 5th | 10am - 3pm

The white line woodblock was invented in Provincetown in the 1920's. Inspired by Japanese prints, areas are delineated with wood carving tools, then painted with watercolors. They are hand printed using the back of a spoon rather than a press. Learn this unique form of printmaking now coming back into fashion.

Bring watercolor paints.
Block, carving tool, and paper included.

Intro to Tapestry Weaving (Beginners & Beyond) with Linda Rhynard

Mondays, October 21st – November 11th | 12:30pm - 3pm

BEGINNERS: $215 BAM Members丨$225 Non-Members

BEYOND: $165 BAM Members丨$175 Non-Members

Introduction to basic Tapestry weaving techniques utilizing a small frame loom. The goal of the class is to weave a small sampler/wall hanging utilizing those techniques. The finished work is individualized by techniques used and color combinations. Beyond students are individuals who have taken classes with Linda in the past.

Supplies included. Beyond students, bring your loom and tool kit.

2D Mixed Media Collage and Acrylics with Claire Bowen
Tuesdays, November 5th-December 3rd | 10 am - 12 pm

Practicing a variety of mediums in ones work can be a new challenge but creatively inspiring. This class will help the individual explore several combinations of using more than one medium in their work. Demonstrations on process, and guidance will be used to coach individuals to help find their own voice. Introduction and use of "tools and tricks of the trade" will be shared. Fun exploration is highly encouraged!

All levels are welcome and no experience necessary

Colored Pencil Drawing with Kendra Ferreira
Wednesdays, November 6-December 11 | 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
$130 BAM Members | $140 Non-Members
Unleash the vibrancy of colored pencil in this 6 week class. In this class we will try a variety of drawing surfaces and learn the many versatile ways of applying colored pencil. Topics will include: layering, blending and burnishing techniques. Each week we will work on a different project and small still life set up. Some colored pencil experience is helpful but beginners are also welcome.
