Amelia Cativo, 92, of Bristol

Amelia (Ferreira) Cativo, 92, of Primrose Road passed away on Oct. 6, 2019, at HopeHealth Hospice Center.  She was the wife of the late Manuel Cativo.   

Born in Sao Roque, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Georgina (Rebello) Ferreira. She is survived by her children, John Cativo and his wife Manuela, Hugo F. Cativo and his wife Elaine, Mary C. Borges and her husband Carlos, Joseph Cativo and his wife Regina, Manuel J. Cativo and his wife Ana; daughter-in-law Mary Cativo; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was the mother of the late Manuel J. Cativo and Gilbert Martins Cativo and sister of Francisca Botelho, Joao Ferreira and the late Gilda Medeiros and Boanova Vieira.

Mrs. Cativo was employed by American Tourister and Converse before retiring.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. at the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
