Allan R. Wilson, Jr., 54, of Warren

Allan R. Wilson, Jr., 54, of Warren, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Beth (West) Wilson.

Allan was born in Providence, a son of Gloria (Botelho) Wilson of Warren and the late Allan R. Wilson, Sr.

Allan was a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic for the State of Rhode Island for over 15 years, and he also worked for various construction companies.

A lifelong Warren resident, he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

He enjoyed working on anything mechanical, working on cars and motors. He liked building classic cars, fishing and his pets.

He was a foodie. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughters, Heather Wilson and her partner Larren Witter of Warren, and Hayley Wilson of Warren.

Allan was the brother of Lori Wilson-Medeiros and his brother-in-law Michael of Warren, and Sandra Wilson of Warren.

He was the nephew of Maureen Ponte and her husband Michael of Swansea, Mass., and the cousin of Michael Ponte  and his wife Kim of Swansea, Mass., and Marie Croarkin of Pawtucket.

Allan was also the uncle of Marisa Medeiros and Megan Medeiros, both of Warren.

His funeral will be held Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. from the SMITH FUNERAL and MEMORIAL SERVICES, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Calling hours are SUNDAY from 2 to 5 p.m. and Monday MORNING from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Burial will be held privately and at a later date.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
