Alice E. Macomber, 91, Westport

Alice E. (Davoll) Macomber, 91, of Westport, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020, at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Center. She was the wife of Carlton D. "Cukie" Macomber, Jr.

Mrs. Macomber was born in Dartmouth, daughter of the late Raymond F. and Mary E. (Gifford) Davoll, and grew up at The Davoll Store. She had been a longtime resident of Westport. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a postal clerk. 

She loved gardening and boating, especially on the Westport River. She was a member of both the Westport Point United Methodist Church, Westport Point and the Allen's Neck Friends Meeting House, Dartmouth.

Along with her husband, survivors include her three sons, Barry W. Macomber of Elmira, NY, Philip C. Macomber and his wife Martha of Westport, and Paul R. Macomber and his wife Janice of Westport; three brothers, Raymond F. Davoll, Jr. of Dartmouth, Warren G. Davoll of Randolf, Vt., and Peter J. Davoll of California; granddaughter, Harmony; great grandson, Ryder; daughter-in-law, Donna Macomber; and several nieces and nephews.

Private arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Westport Point United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 2, Westport Point, MA 02791, Allen's Neck Friends Meeting House, 739 Horseneck Rd., Dartmouth, MA 02748 or to Perkin's School for the Blind, 141 Riverside St., Watertown, MA 02742.
