Accomplished folk singer performing Saturday at Stone Soup

Lisa Bastoni is a 2022 New England Music Award nominee (Roots), 2020 and 2019 Boston Music Award Nominee (Folk) and winner of 2019 New Folk at the esteemed Kerrville Folk Festival. She will be performing at Stone Soup Coffeehouse on Saturday, Nov. 11. Tickets are $20, and are available at the door or reserved through their website.

Lisa’s most recent recording, Backyard Birds is a collection of seven songs, recorded at home over the winter of 2020/2021. In addition to her work in music, Lisa Bastoni is an accomplished visual artist and teacher, and mother to two young children. Lisa Bastoni has opened for/performed with Lori McKenna, Dar Williams, Regina Spektor, The Secret Sisters, Teddy Thompson, Rose Cousins, Mark Erelli, Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, and many more.

Opening for Lisa will be Casey Hayward.

Parking at The Music Mansion at 88 Meeting St, Providence, is limited and carpooling, ride-sharing, and mass transit are highly encouraged. There is also available parking on Benefit Street; a short set of stairs will lead you right up to the Music Mansion.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
