The following notices of academic achievement for East Providence students were provided by their institutions of higher learning:

Dean’s List
Calli Vocke, East Providence, has been named to the Elmira (N.Y.) College Dean's List for the Fall 2022 Term. Full-time undergraduate students registered for at least 12 computable credit hours and earning a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher at the end of Term I or Term II are placed on the Dean's List at the College.

Sarah Curran, of Rumford and student in the College of Letters and Science, was named to the University of Wisconsin-Madison Dean's List for the fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. Students who achieve at a high level academically are recognized by the dean at the close of each semester. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must complete a minimum of 12 graded degree credits in that semester. Each university school or college sets its own GPA requirements for students to be eligible to receive the distinction.

East Providence students Erin Johnston, Reilly Johnston, Kylie Vecchio and Madison Cabral along with Mia Jackson of Rumford were named to the Dean's List at Stonehill College (Easton, Mass.) for the fall 2022 semester. To qualify for this honor, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have successfully completed all courses for which they were registered.

Joseph Rego of Rumford and Andrew Soares of East Providence named to the Dean's List at Lasell University (Newton, Mass.) for their academic performance in the fall 2022 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, Lasell students must complete at least 12 credits as a full-time student and achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Samuel Budnick from Rumford was named to the dean's list for academic excellence for the 2022 fall semester at Springfield (Mass.) College. Budnick has a primary major of Health Sci / Pre-PT. The criteria for selection to the Dean's List are as follows: The student must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded coursework for the term, exclusive of "P" grades. The student must not have any incompletes or missing grades in the designated term. The student must have a minimum semester grade average of 3.500 for the term.

Samantha Cafaro of East Providence has been named to the Southern New Hampshire University fall 2022 Dean's List. The fall terms run from September to December. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.

The following local students have been named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire for the fall 2022 semester: Carly Corbett of Riverside earning High Honors, Christa McCormick of Riverside earning Highest Honors, Kyleigh Anderson of Riverside earning Highest Honors and Taylor Heck of Rumford earning Highest Honors. Students named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire are students who have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance during a semester enrolled in a full-time course load (12 or more graded credits). Highest honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.5 through 3.64 are awarded honors.

The following Rumford residents Ginger Berry, member of the class of 2025; Nathan Kelton, member of the class of 2025; Sloane Larsen, member of the class of 2023; Anne Rogers, member of the class of 2023; Brendan Rogers, member of the class of 2025; and Holly Tente, member of the class of 2023 were named to the Fall 2022 Dean's List at the College of the Holy Cross for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2022-23 academic year. To qualify, students must pass four or more letter-graded courses with no failing grades during the semester and earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Eli Davies of Rumford was named to the Dean's list at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) for the 2022-23 fall semester. Davies is earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Urban and Regional Planning. The Deans’ Lists for the College of Arts and Sciences at Miami University recognizes students with a grade point average of 3.70 during a semester with 12 or more course hours.

The following students have been named to the Dean's List for the 2022 fall semester at the University of New England (Biddeford And Portland, Maine): East Providence — Faye Botelho, Brandon Healy; Rumford — Meghan Cabral; Seekonk — Jared Moran, Brooke Parks. Dean's List students have attained a grade point average of 3.3 or better out of a possible 4.0 at the end of the semester.

Wendy Carvalho of East Providence was named to the Fall 2022 Dean's List at Georgia State University. To be eligible for the Dean's List, degree-seeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 for a minimum of nine semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State during the fall or spring term with no incompletes for the semester.

Emily Howard, of Riverside and a member of the class of 2023 majoring in Biomedical Engineering (BS), was named to the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Dean's List for academic excellence for the fall 2022 semester. A total of 2,069 undergraduate students achieved the criteria required for WPI's fall 2022 Dean's List. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

Jasmynn Arel of Riverside, who majors in Social Work, was named to the Eastern Connecticut State University (Willimantic) Dean's List for the fall 2022 semester. To qualify for Dean's List, full-time students must complete a minimum of 12 credits in letter-graded courses with an average GPA of 3.5 or higher in the semester. Part-time students are eligible if they've accumulated 15 or more credits of letter-graded course work with an average GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The following local students were named to the fall 2022 Dean's List at Endicott College (Beverly, Mass.): East Providence — Christopher Rezendes, Nursing, son of Joyce Rezendes and Manuel Rezendes; Riverside —  Madison Durfee, Photography, daughter of CoriLynn Durfee and Steven Durfee; Seekonk — Faith DaSilva, Environmental Science, daughter of Elizabeth DaSilva and Hildeberto DaSilva, Grace Ippolito, Libl Studies/Education, daughter of Maria Ippolito and Philip Ippolito, Nicholas Kasper, Exercise Science, son of Karen Contois, Lucy Lewis, Healthcare Management, daughter of William Codega, Katerina Mihailides, Nursing, daughter of Lise Mihailides and Andrew Mihailides. In order to qualify for the Dean's List, a student must obtain a minimum grade point average of 3.5, receive no letter grade below "C," have no withdrawal grades, and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits for the semester.

Kaylee Brosco, Zion Hall and Cyle Viveiros, all of East Providence, have earned a place on the Dean’s List for the fall 2022 semester at Dean College (Franklin, Mass.). To qualify for the Dean’s List at Dean College a student has earned a Grade Point Average of 3.5 for the semester.

President’s List
Katie Nelson of Riverside was recently named to the President's List at The State University of New York at Potsdam. Nelson, whose major is Archaeological Studies, was among 809 SUNY Potsdam students who were honored for academic excellence in the fall 2022 semester. To achieve the honor of being on the President's List, each student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically-graded semester hours, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Tyler Martins of East Providence has earned a place on the President's List for the fall 2022 semester at Dean College (Franklin, Mass.). To qualify for the President’s List at Dean College a full-time student must earn a grade point average of 4.0.

Scholar-Athlete Honors
The Community College of Rhode Island’s Athletic Department named 35 student-athletes to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the fall 2022 semester, 27 of whom also qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XXI Honor Roll. To qualify for the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.0 GPA while attending college full-time during the current semester. The NJCAA Region XXI Honor Roll is reserved for those who earn a 3.20 GPA or higher in the current semester. The area honorees included: Richard Pina, Rumford, men's basketball, 3.11; * Samantha Marsella, Rehoboth, softball, 3.78; * Jenna Medeiros, Swansea, softball. 3.43. * Denotes NJCAA Region XXI Honor Roll.
