Bucketfuls of hail poured down on parts of Bristol at about 4 p.m. Thursday as a fast-moving but powerful cell moved over the area.
In the Bristol Narrows area, the hail fell in torrents, pinging off cars and homes and ranging in size from about a quarter to almost three quarters of an inch. At the Narrows beach, several kayaks and a fishing chair sat unattended, their owners presumably seeking shelter from the storm.
