A Country Day at Pardon Gray

Enjoy great food, exhibits, crafters, vendors, kids crafts and games, and music. The tradition of a slice of pie with a free scoop of Gray's Ice Cream continues, and this year the BBQ grill also includes sausages donated by The Sausage Guy of Fenway Park. Crafters and vendors of all kinds will be on hand, including an opportunity to make your own pottery. There will be pumpkin decorating, scarecrow making, face painting, hobby horse making, hayrides, and more

WHERE: Pardon Gray Preserve, Main Road, Tiverton
WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 14; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain date Sept. 15)
COST: Parking: $5. Kids Activity Bracelet for ages 2-12: $7. Any proceeds will protect habitat for wildlife and trails for the public.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
