As 75th anniversary of its end nears

EAST PROVIDENCE — Wannamoisett Country Club recently conducted its 75th George M. Gordon Member Guest Tournament. With the 75th anniversary of the end World War II approaching, the club honored its members who served, including a number of local residents.

They included: David J. Lanni, of Rumford, Army and a WCC member for 36 years; Raymond J. Sanders, of Rumford, Navy and a WCC member for 34 years; George J. Geisser, of Riverside, Army and a WCC member for 54 years; and William C. Seifred, of Seekonk, Navy and a WCC member for 63 years.

Also honored were Dominick J. Berardi, Army Air Force and a WCC member for 51 years; Dr. Francis L. McNelis, Navy and a WCC member for 47 years; Donald J. Pelletier, Navy and a WCC member for 41 years; and James W. Turbitt, Army and a WCC member for 52 years.
