Mary Anne (O'Melia) LeBlanc, 81, passed away at home on September 2, 2019 surrounded by her family. Born June 10, 1938 in Holyoke, Mass, daughter of John and Edna (Pothier) O’Melia, she grew up in the Willimansett section of Chicopee and lived in South Hadley from 1963-2017 then moved to Rumford.
Mary Anne worked as a secretary for Mt. Holyoke College for 27 years. Previously she worked at CF Church Company in Chicopee where she met her husband Bob. She was a communicant of St. Theresa and St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley. She was an active member of the Holyoke Senior Center and a member of the writing group.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 60 years, Robert G. LeBlanc of Rumford, and two children, David LeBlanc and wife Darlene of Yarmouth, Maine, and Suzanne Charron and husband William of East Providence. She also leaves 6 grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Sept. 8, from 1-3 p.m. followed by a service at 3 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society. For more information, visit beersandstory.com.
