WEST GREENWICH — The East Providence High School girls' soccer team won its second Division II contests in as many attempts on the young 2019 season and did so in similar dramatic fashion.
The Townies edged Chariho, 1-0, last week on a late goal by Alyssa DeOliveira in their league opener at home.
Monday, Sept. 9, at Exeter-West Greenwich, Ashley Dias's tally in the final minute of play lifted the locals to a 3-2 win.
The Townies improved to 2-0-0 and with six points in the D-II standings after the win.
DeOliveira and Ashley Cassino-Henriquez accounted for East Providence's goals earlier in the contest. Keeper Mia Jackson was credited with 14 saves in net for the locals.
The Townies are off again until Monday, Sept. 16, when they face Lincoln School at Faxon Farm in Rehoboth. Match time is 4 p.m.
