Wallace J. Souza, 80, East Providence

Wallace J. Souza, 80,of Somerset, and formerly of Goldsmith Avenue, East Providence, died Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Morton Hospital, Taunton. He was the husband of the late Muriel (McCarron) Souza. Wallace was born in Rehoboth, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Dias) Souza.
He was a dog trainer and he raced dogs at Raynham Dog Track and also at Lincoln Dog Track. Before moving to Somerset, he had lived in East Providence. He was a NASCAR fan, and he also liked the New York Yankees. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Mr. Souza is survived by his children, Wallace Souza Jr. of Pawtucket, Deborah St.Martin of Taunton, Robin Teixeira of Somerset, Lori Ann Souza of Taunton and Tammy Souza Gill of South Easton, Mass. He was the brother of Joseph Souza of Riverside, Maryanne Gomes of East Providence, Beatrice Pine of Raynham, Shirley Hanlon of Attleboro and also Judy Souza of Bristol.
Mr. Souza was the grandfather of 9 and he was also the great grandfather of 7. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
