To the editor:
The East Providence City Council should send a notice to the current Washington administration that it intends to join the many other cities and municipalities throughout the country in protesting the President's decision to withdraw from the Paris Accords.
The decision to withdraw from global green environmental standards is reckless in the extreme. East Providence should make it clear that it intends to follow best management environment practices, and adhere to the principle that Global Warming is not a myth.
It has shown its commitment in this practice in the past by allowing the closed landfill to utilize a solar farm. A great move.
This letter should be sent to the Mayors' Association and our elected officials in all branches in Washington, DC.
Any change in global temperature, however slight, is a huge problem, not insignificant as stated in one of the reasons for withdrawal.
