The Providence Journal had reports on two incidents pertaining to the deaths of East Providence residents outside of the city over the weekend.
Daniel Pereira, of Riverside, was among seven motorcyclists killed on Friday night, June 21, in New Hampshire after the group of riders was struck by a motorist driving a pickup truck.
Brandi Berg, 37 and also of Riverside, was found dead of a gunshot wound in a shopping plaza off Route 1 in North Attleboro Saturday evening, June 22. The suspect in the matter, 32-year-old Steven Fregeolle of Johnston, was found the next day in a nature reserve in Charlestown, R.I., by Narragansett police K-9 team dead of an apparent suicide.
Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
According to The Journal the crash occurred when a pickup towing a flatbed trailer collided with the group of 10 motorcycles around 6:30 p.m. Friday on U.S. 2, a two-lane highway in rural Randolph.
The driver was identified as Volodoymyr Zhukovskyy, 23, an employee of Westfield Transport, a company in Springfield, Mass. He has not of yet been charged with any crimes relating to the accident.
Also according to The Journal report, Ms. Berg was found unresponsive by law enforcement at the Fashion Crossing Plaza off Route 1. She was taken to hospital and officially pronounced deceased there. Sunday, the body of Mr. Fregeolle was discovered by police in The Carter Preserve.
