First, Mr. Block does not explain why he chose the Republican Party as his vehicle for "fixing the state." Second, it seems a bit odd that the founder of the Moderate Party would move to the Republicans who at this time are anything but moderate. Perhaps when the Tea Party fad has spent its course, the Republicans might go back to something resembling the fiscally responsible party they had always been, but lately the GOP at the national level has become a reckless jumble of "know nothings" and "do nothings". Why a self-professed moderate would want to join a party that has more in common with the Mad Hatter than the great Abraham Lincoln is baffling to me. In politics, timing is everything, and Mr. Block's timing is, to put it mildly, a bit suspect.
