Congratulations to Sister Sardinha as the Bristol County Chamber of Commerce "Citizen of the Year"!

I remember going with her and several from Bristol...who faithfully attended classes at the convent of the Sisters of St. Dorothy on Lincoln Avenue. I always wanted to be a nun....but she was "called" and I was not. We also went to the Sisters of St. Dorothy retreat house on

Long Island for several summers.

When my close friend Eleanor Calouro became a nun, I attended the service in Taunton. I asked Eleanor about Elvis Presley. Her immediate response was: "Who is Elvis Presley"? Then I went on the explain about him, etc.

Then I returned home.....and thought to myself.......I guess I am not going to be a nun...no television....no Elvis....and the nuns would not be receptive to someone who liked to sing and dance.....to rock music.

Again, congratulations to Sister Sardinha. Am so proud of you!
