Title IX is misrepresented in this article. The team was disbanded because of a lack of interest. Like Ms. Belisle says, it has become an instructional program, not a competitive one. Volleyball is more exciting to these kids and should do alright.

That doesn't mean I don't have a problem with title IX. It has hurt a lot of programs at different schools. A lot of kids aren't involved in the sport they would like to be involved in simply because there isn't enough girls interested in Athletics programs at those schools. That is wrong in my opinion. If there is an interest in a sport then it should be allowed just for that reason. Not disallowed because they can't get an equal number of girls interested, vice versa as well.
