The "defending champs"should be embarrassed by their lack of sportsmanship and classless actions on Saturday night. And the coach and seniors were the ringleaders of the circus. Mr. Derrick (#3) should hand back that Hobey Baker Award and turn himself in at the training school, what a cheap shot artist and all around sore loser, maybe there is an award for that you could put on your mantel. How does the coach leave that group of head hunters(14,4,3) on the ice down by 5 goals with 2 minutes left, when there were plenty of kids on the bench that practiced all year and could have had SOME ice time... WOW..

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
