PORTSMOUTH — Beginning Oct. 1, transfer station fees will be pro-rated for the remainder of the year, the town has announced.

As of Oct. 1, any Portsmouth household that has not purchased a town transfer station sticker will be eligible to do so at a reduced rate for the remainder of 2019. The cost of the pro-rated stickers are:

• Oct. 1: $135

• Nov. 1: $90

• Dec. 1: $45

Pro-rated stickers provide full access to all transfer station waste disposal options. 

The disposal of construction materials, as well as alternate vehicle usage, is limited and based on when the pass was purchased. For example, a sticker purchased in October for $135 will be allowed three construction and demolition (C&D) passes. 

Stickers bought in November will be allowed two C&D passes and those purchased in December will receive only one C&D pass. The same would hold true for alternative vehicle passes.
