Two Portsmouth juveniles arrested in separate incidents

PORTSMOUTH — Here are some highlights from the Portsmouth Police report from over the past week.

Tuesday, Nov. 12

Jose L. Lora Vargas, 21, of 90 Girard Ave., Apt. 140, Newport, was charged with the manufacture, possession and delivery of a controlled substance, and driving without an active license. He was pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road at Twin Lantern Cabins at about 2:15 a.m.

A 17-year-old juvenile was charged with larceny of under $1,500 after police responded to Portsmouth High School shortly after 2 p.m.

Cody E. Hansen, 26, of 55 Almeida Terrace, Apt. 19, was arrested at his home at Bayview Apartments at 7:30 p.m. on two bench warrants issued from 2nd District Court.

Wednesday, Nov. 13

A 14-year-old juvenile was charged with disorderly conduct (fighting/tumultuous behavior) after police responded to Portsmouth Middle School shortly after 11 a.m.

Ediberto M. Camacho, 55, of 166 Roosevelt St., Providence, was arrested on a bench warrant issued from 2nd District Court shortly after 12:30 p.m. at the police station.

Thursday, Nov. 14

Dale W. Dandrea, 59, of 11 Moulton St., Lakeville, Mass., was charged with driving while intoxicated after being pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road at Twin Lantern Cabins at about 1:20 a.m. The driver was also cited for refusing a chemical test.

Daniel J. Moriarty, 50, of 624 Park Ave., was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after police responded to a Clements’ Marketplace around 4:40 a.m. after receiving a report of a suspicious auto.

Friday, Nov. 15

Hailey L. Chapman, 18, of 45 Campion Ave., Tiverton, was charged with the manufacture/possession/delivery of a controlled substance after being arrested on a Portsmouth warrant at the Tiverton Police station shortly before noon.

Saturday, Nov. 16

Alyssa N. Arsenault, 32, of 378 Park Ave., Apt. 2, was arrested on a 2nd District Court bench warrant after the vehicle she was in was stopped for a traffic violation on Boyds Lane near the Founders Brook Motel at about 3:25 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 19

Christopher J. Ball, 36, of 121 Ormerod Ave., was arrested on a 2nd District Court bench warrant after the vehicle he was in was stopped for a traffic violation in the area of Sprague Street and East Main Road around 5:20 p.m.

Joseph M. Corte, 34, of 28 Cover St., Providence, was charged with driving with a suspended license (third offense), after being pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road in front of Melville School shortly before 8 p.m.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
