Tiverton Police Department's 3rd Annual Child Safety and Wellness Day

Posted

The Tiverton Police Department is hoping to break free for an afternoon from the pains of COVID life and resume our tradition of hosting a public/child safety and wellness day!!

Join officers of the Tiverton Police Department and special guest Chase from Paw Patrol to help raise money for the new Tiverton Town Farm Recreation Area Playground on Saturday, June 12th between 11am-4pm at @Longplex Sports Complex (300 Industrial Way, Tiverton, RI. The purpose of TPD hosting this event is for the opportunity for kids to celebrate the closing of the school year while they get familiarized and comfortable interacting with first responders within their community!

The Injury Prevention Center in partnership with SafekidsRI and Safekids Worldwide will be on hand conducting a child safety seat checkpoint where parents can ensure their children are traveling safely in their motor vehicles. Certified technicians will assist parents in checking their child safety seats, as well as, educating parents about the best practices regarding child safety seat installation.

Stop in for lunch at Longplex's Sports Kitchen before visiting with the numerous agencies on hand. For example, the Tiverton/Little Compton Police and Fire Departments, the RI National Guard, as well as, RISP will be on hand to educate parents and children in order to prevent injuries and save lives!

Various pop ups from different organizations will also be on site such as, New York Life Insurance child fingerprinting and identifications, Aspire Dermatology, PODS Swimming and Child Water Safety, Child CPR, Tiverton Farmers Market, etc...

There will be plenty of opportunities for all children in attendance to not only have tons of fun, but also the chance to win brand new bicycles (a total of four bicycles will be awarded through random raffle drawings before the closing of the event)! As well as numerous themed raffle baskets not only for kids, but for all you Moms and Dads as well!

It is highly encouraged that children bring their bicycles to the event so they can complete the bicycle rodeo (a bicycle safety course...we will have bikes on hand for kids to use if they don't bring one). Those who successfully complete the course will be recognized by the Tiverton Police Department and presented with a certificate of completion.

Children will also be provided the opportunity to climb in and on various vehicles, such as police, fire, military and construction vehicles.

There will be music by MC Entertainment: mcdjs4u.com and face painting by Helio Pacheco! To check out some great artwork Helio does go to: www.muralsbyheliopacheco.crevado.com, guest appearances by the Tiverton Cosplayers and much more!!!!
