PORTSMOUTH — Three family members from Tiverton were charged with assault in connection with a reported fight that took place Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 1 Lagoon Drive.

Officers responded to the area, located in the Melville marine district, to investigate a report of a fight in progress. Police said the “suspects were leaving the area via boat” when they arrived. 

Based on their investigation, police determined there was probable cause to charge the following men, all living at 2282 Main Road, Tiverton, with assault: Mitchell S. Hartnett, 25, and John W. Hartnett, 27 (two counts each); and John S. Hartnett, 58. 

All three suspects turned themselves in at police headquarters on Sept. 8, police said. 

The victims, according to police, were a 45-year-old man from Portsmouth and a 39-year-old man from Newport.

Wednesday, Sept. 9

Iyonna S. Hayes, 29, of 37 Donna Drive, was charged with possession of a controlled substance after being pulled over for a laned roadway violation on West Main Road at Donna Drive around 1 a.m. Police found her driver’s license to be suspended and said that during the subsequent inventory search of the vehicle, a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine was found in a box of cigarettes in the suspect’s purse. Police said they also found a large metal spoon with the same powdery substance located on the floor of the passenger side, along with multiple glass smoking pipes. 

Thursday, Sept. 10

Nicoletta M. Coscia, 34, of 78 Rhode Island Ave., Pawtucket, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, and driving while intoxicated (first offense). Police made the arrest after pulling Ms. Coscia’s vehicle over on Route 24 North at Freeborn Street around 2:20 a.m. for improper use of high beams and multiple moving violations. During a search of the vehicle, police said they found Xanax and marijuana, for which the driver could not produce a prescription. She was also cited for refusing a chemical test, police said.

Jose A. Roque, 48, of 22 Rosewood St. Pawtucket, was charged with driving without an active license after being pulled over at the Boyds Lane park-and-ride around 6:40 p.m. for leaving the lane of travel.

Friday, Sept. 11

Gina Russo, 33, of 3 Langsberries Ave., North Providence, was charged with driving without an active license (third or subsequent offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road at Redwood Road around 2:35 a.m.

Saturday, Sept. 12

John T. Mark, 30, of 539 Division St. 2, Fall River, was arrested on a Superior Court full bench warrant and charged with driving without an active license (first offense). He was pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road at Turkey Hill around 12:30 a.m. He was held overnight pending transport to the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston, police said.

Michael F. Tourinho, 37, of 210 Rutherglen Ave., Providence, was charged with driving without an active license (first offense) after he was pulled over for multiple moving violations on West Main Road just after 8 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 13

Joseph A. Martinez Cruz, 25, of 672 Prairie Ave, Room 616, Providence, was charged with driving without an active license (first offense) after being pulled over for multiple equipment violations on West Main Road around 5:45 p.m.

Lauren A. Thompson, 32, of 21 Linda Ave., was charged with domestic breaking and entering into a house without the owner’s consent, domestic vandalism resulting in malicious injury to property, and domestic disorderly conduct. Police responded to the Island Park Safe Harbor marina around 9:30 p.m. to investigate a report of breaking and entering. Police said Ms. Thompson entered the residence of a 28-year-old man with whom she has a domestic relationship without permission, acted disorderly in the presence of multiple people and vandalized the victim’s property. Police later found her at her home, where she was taken into custody.

Monday, Sept. 14

Richard A. Correia, 33, of 60 Cove St., Riverside, was charged with vandalism with malicious injury to property, and disorderly conduct, after police responded to West Main Road to investigate a report of a suspicious person around 6:45 a.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 15

Derrick D. Johnson, 33, of 1830 Carriage Lane, Room 170F, Charleston, S.C., was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense), and driving without an active license (first offense). Police pulled Mr. Johnson’s vehicle over on West Main Road at Prescott Point around 12:25 a.m. because of roadway violations, improper display of plates, and passengers that were seated in an unsafe manner.

Emily I. Dugan, 22, of 163 Ridgewood Road, Middletown, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after being stopped on East Main Road at Bramans Lane for a traffic violation just after 1 a.m.
