PORTSMOUTH — Here are some recent arrests made by the Portsmouth Police Department:
Monday, Sept. 16
Jacob A. Garzarelli, 32, of 3217 Flat River Road, Coventry, was arrested around 10:40 a.m. at Dollar General, 3228 East Main Road, following an investigation by police detectives that he had engaged in a conversation with an individual whom be believed to be a 14-year-old girl from Portsmouth, police said. During the conversation, Garzarelli agreed to meet with the minor at a specific location to engage in sex, police said. He also electronically sent indecent material to her during the conversation, according to police. He was taken into custody after police observed him in a specific location where he intended to meet with the girl, police said. He was charged with electronically disseminating indecent material to a minor; indecent solicitation of a child; and possession of child pornography. Garzarelli was later transported to 2nd District Court in Newport for his arraignment.
Tuesday, Sept. 17
Justin S. Hackley, 49, of 164 South Greystone Terrace N, turned himself into police headquarters at about 2 p.m. on an active warrant charging him with disorderly conduct (fighting/tumultuous behavior). He was booked and issued a 2nd District Court summons.
Thursday, Sept. 19
Kevin Patrick Ohagan, 43, of 65 Angell Road 2, Narragansett, turned himself in on a warrant charging him with disorderly conduct (fighting/tumultuous behavior), shortly before 11 a.m. According to police, the warrant was issued following an incident at a Portsmouth High School football game on Sept. 12. (PHS hosted South Kingstown that night.) Ohagan was released with a District Court summons.
Ian D. Kerr, 34, of 23 Shields St., Newport, was arrested at his home around 8:30 p.m. on a Newport Police Department warrant for obstructing an officer in the execution of duty. The Portsmouth Police Patrol Division assisted officers from Newport Police in the arrest.
Friday, Sept. 20
Roberto Vasquez, 59, of 161 Prudence Ave., Providence, was charged with disorderly conduct (offensive words at another). The arrest was made after officers were dispatched to Cumberland Farms, 3166 East Main Road, in response to a report that a man was refusing to leave, police said. Vasquez was issued a District Court summons for the charge.
