PORTSMOUTH — Sophomore Ben Hurd had himself a day as Patriots quarterback, running for three touchdowns and throwing for another in a decisive 40-13 Homecoming win against South Kingstown on Saturday.

The win improved the Patriots’ record to 5-1 in Division I-B and 5-2 overall. The Rebels, meanwhile, dropped to 1-5 in the division and 1-6 overall.

Senior Henry Gibson caught the touchdown pass from Hurd.

Also contributing on offense for the Patriots were sophomore Marcus Evans and senior Jake Letourneau, who each rushed for a touchdown.

On defense, junior Chris Bulk collected two interceptions for Portsmouth, and Hurd and sophomore Gavin Bicho each had one as well.
