Portsmouth Police deal with DWIs, drug charges, disorderly conduct

PORTSMOUTH — Here are some highlights from the Portsmouth Police reports from over the past week:

Monday, Aug. 26

Cristina M. Scott, 26, of 8 Burton Place, Middletown, was charged with driving after her license had been denied, suspended or revoked due to a previous violation. Her vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation on East Main Road in front of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church at about 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 27

Kenneth J. Zammer, 40, of 82 3rd St., Newport, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) and driving after his license had been denied, suspended or revoked (second offense). He was pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road at Anselmo Drive around 12:25 a.m. Mr. Zammer was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Roland Morgan III, 35, of 99 Melrose St., Apt. 7, Providence, was arrested on a 6th District Court bench warrant after being pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road in front of Melville School shortly before midnight. Police said Mr. Morgan was charged with driving without an active license, his third offense.

Thursday, Aug. 28

A 17-year-old was charged with underage possession of alcohol after police investigated a report of a juvenile delinquent at Sandy Point Beach around 7:40 a.m.

Korby M. LeBlanc, 36, of 394 Metacom Ave., Apt. 2, Warren, was arrested on a 2nd District Court bench warrant after police investigated a report of a suspicious person on East Main Road around 7:15 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 30

William H. Bergeron, 69, of 2368 East Main Road, Apt. E6, was charged with disorderly conduct (offensive words at another) after police responded to a disturbing-the-peace complaint at Quaker Manor Building “E” at about 6:40 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 31

Marisol S. Marles, 27, of 111 Freight St., Pawtucket, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, her second offense, after the vehicle she was in was pulled over for a traffic violation on Route 24 North at Cedar Island shortly after midnight. She was also charged with receiving stolen goods and had two active 6th District Court bench warrants out for her, according to police.

Michael A. Waring, 30, of 897 Charles St., Fall River, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation around 1 a.m. on Route 24 North at Sprague Street. Police also cited him to refusing a chemical test.

Victor C. Andrade, 26, of 4 River St., Bristol, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after police responded to Bristol Ferry Road at the base of the Mt. Hope Bridge to investigate a report of suspicious activity. Mr. Andrade was also cited for refusing a chemical test, according to police.
