PORTSMOUTH — A 25-year-old woman was arrested here on a host of charges on Thursday, March 9, including possession of fentanyl, police said.
A vehicle driven by Emoni C. Chaney, of no permanent address, was pulled over on East Main Road at Child Street around 10:30 p.m. for speeding and committing multiple laned roadway violations, according to police.
While speaking with officers, Chaney displayed obvious signs of impairment and failed a series of field sobriety tests, police said.
While conducting an inventory of the vehicle, officers discovered what they suspected was fentanyl in a bag located on the rear passenger seat, police said. They also found Chaney, who provided a false name to officers, to have multiple bench warrants, according to police.
Chaney was charged with the following: possession of a controlled substance; driving under the influence (DUI), first offense; obstructing officer in execution of duty; and three bench warrants issued from 3rd District Court. She was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.
