PORTSMOUTH — A 32-year-old Middletown man was taken into custody on Wednesday, Sept. 8, and charged with his fourth driving-under-the-influence offense.
Patrick Connerton, of 152 Bliss Road, was also charged with possession of cocaine and driving after his license had been suspended, his second offense, police said.
According to police, Mr. Connerton was traveling northbound on West Main Road at about midnight when he was observed committing several traffic violations.
After stopping him, an officer observed obvious signs of intoxication and Mr. Connerton failed the standard field sobriety testing, police said.
A search of his vehicle revealed a small amount of suspected cocaine, according to police.
Mr. Connerton had been convicted of three previous DUI charges in Vermont dating back to 2014, according to police.
