PORTSMOUTH — Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age,” Delany Ruston’s award-winning 2016 film, was the first feature documentary to explore the impact of screen technology on kids and offer parents and families proven solutions.

Now Dr. Delaney is back with “Screenagers: Next Chapter,” an online screening of which is being hosted by PHSO (Parents Helping Students Organization) and sponsored by the Portsmouth Prevention Coalition and the School Department.

The film will be available for viewing at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 16. Register at the following address and you’ll receive access to online viewing by e-mail: www.bigmarker.com/screenagers-starhouse/SCREENAGERS-NC-LIVE-PHSO.

There will be a live discussion following the movie, hosted by a panel of three local experts, including Dr. James Chen. Viewers can ask questions.

In “Screenagers: Next Chapter,” we follow Delaney as she finds herself at a loss on how to help her own teens as they struggle with their emotional wellbeing. She sets out to understand these challenges in our current screen-filled society, and how we, as parents and educators, can empower teens to overcome mental health challenges and build emotional agility, communication savvy, and stress resilience.
