PORTSMOUTH — A 40-year-old local man was arrested Saturday, Feb. 29, and charged with domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct following an incident at his home shortly before 3:30 a.m.
Police said they responded to the home at 53 Gormley Ave. and found a 49-year-old female outside who visibly upset and crying.
They arrested Erik A. Nordby, of the same address. Police said he had slapped, pushed and choked the woman. The incident was recorded on the victim’s cell phone, which was viewed by officers on the scene, police said.
While he was being processed at the police station, Mr. Nordby requested to use the telephone to contact his lawyer, police said. However, he contacted the victim after being told not to, and also called 911 to state he was in need of assistance, according to police.
