PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High girls’ varsity basketball team lost its third straight game when it was defeated by La Salle Academy, 50-40, in a home game on Friday, Jan. 20.
The Patriots are now 3-7 in Division B.
Kaitlin Roche led the Patriots on offense with 12 points.
Also contributing were Emily Maiato (11 points), Ava Moore (10 — including a pair of 3-pointers), Ava Hackley (4), and Olivia Durant (3).
The Rams’ Lucia DelPonte led all scorers with 17 points,
The team will next play North Kingstown on the road on Tuesday, Jan. 25, and then at Scituate on Thursday, Jan. 27.
The Patriots will play Rogers High School in a non-league lane in Newport on Saturday, Jan. 29, before returning home to host Cranston West on Wednesday, Feb. 2.
