PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High School girls’ indoor track team fared well at the East Coast Invitational held Friday and Saturday, Jan. 17-18, at the Providence Career & Technical High School.

The Patriots’ 1600 sprint medley foursome of Abbie Armijo, Meghan Lehand, Ryan McNeilly and Sabrina Leary took second place with a time of 4 minutes, 25.68 seconds.

Sabrina Leary came in second place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:28.98. She also took sixth place in the mile run, clocking a time of 5:25.53.

In the girls’ shot put event, Portsmouth’s Gabby Bryan came in fifth with a best throw of 38 feet, 1 inch. She came in ninth in the weight throw, with a best toss of 45 feet, 8 inches.

Ryan McNeilly took ninth place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.63.

The Patriots’ Keira Foster finished 11th in the two-mile run with a time of 13:13.99.
