PORTSMOUTH — Despite postponing the event 24 hours due to the threat of thunderstorms on Saturday, a big crowd turned out for Sunday’s second annual Park Avenue Picnic at Thriving Tree Coffee House in Island Park.
The event was presented by The Island Park Preservation Society.
The festivities started at 5:30 p.m., with food, live music and arts and crafts.
After that came the fireworks, which were launched from a barge floating in Blue Bill Cove, drawing “oohs and ahs” from the appreciate crowd.
