Keep Metacomet Green would like to thank all their supporters and reassure them that KMG is still here and will be here till a solution is found to save that green space on Metacomet Golf Club land.

While at the Arbor Day festivities at Hull Street playground this week KMG members had a conversation with the mayor pertaining to the new community center and where the funds would be coming from for this project The mayor stated that a feasibility report would be conducted. The report would probably include the different areas of monies available from state and federal funds. It would also include information on the different areas suggested, such as where the Senior Center is now OR Pierce Field, both mentioned in the mayors request for qualifications from March 2021 notice available in Keep Metacomet Green Facebook site.

Let's get Metacomet into that feasibility report. Fixing both issues at once, saving the land and having a dedicated community center. It is to bad the mayors community center idea was not thought of before the call for possible projects at the Metacomet by the city council but now that the mayor had that lightbulb idea. Let’s do it! With a feasibility report we can All get the information we need to make this happen for the good of East Providence.

KMG has already posted a fantastic option for a community center, saving the senior center for the purpose it serves now and dedicating space elsewhere for our police departments needs. This is how you work together to solve a problem and combine forces for the good of the residents. We have the appraisal number now. Who is willing to sit down with the residents and FIND A WAY to save what the people need most , open space, peace of mind, a neighborhood not a shopping plaza. Please continue to support saving the green space of Metacomet golf course. KMG is not going anywhere.
