I read with interest the recent “East Main’s changes” article, it being a serious hazard that needs to be addressed and corrected.
In reality, all of East Main Road into Middletown is a major hazard. The road is substantially undersized to accommodate the extreme high volume of traffic and the size of various vehicles, traveling at excessive speeds.
East Main Road is a very narrow, outdated four-lane road in deplorable condition. It has to be one of the most dangerous roads in the United States.
East Main Road needs to be six lanes, at the very least — two lanes wider with a new road surface. The current road is a disgrace and dangerous.
