Laurence Tonne Jr., 100, Portsmouth

Laurence Tonne Jr., 100, of Portsmouth, R.I., passed away peacefully on June 9, 2019, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Laurence was born April 28, 1919, in New York, N.Y., to Laurence G. Tonne and Gladys May Jeese.

Laurence was married to the love of his life, the late Eileen (Grimm) Tonne, for 72 years.

Laurence served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He attended college at Pratt University and received a bachelor’s degree. He worked as a project engineer for The Federal Aviation Administration for 40 years. 

Laurence is survived by his daughter, Patricia Killeavy of Bristol, R.I. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tricia Killeavy, Bridget Killeavy, Erin Killeavy, Sean Killeavy and Colleen Killeavy. 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at 2 p.m., at St Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, in Bristol.
