Barrington police: Uber driver threatens Barrington couple

Driver was in a rental car with NY plates

Posted

A Barrington resident called 911 after a disturbing experience with an Uber driver late Saturday night, May 8.

The resident and her husband had been out to dinner in Providence and later called for an Uber ride home. The resident told police she asked the driver to roll up the window, and he became irate, wanted to fight her husband, and then told the couple to get out of his car.

The resident also told police the Uber driver said he knew where they lived and threatened to kill them. Police said the Uber driver used a red Ford Fusion, but believed it was a rental car with NY plates. The resident said she planned to file a report with Uber.
