Assault, DUI charges top Portsmouth Police report

PORTSMOUTH — Here are some recent arrests made by the Portsmouth Police Department:

Wednesday, Oct. 15

Kenneth N. Boudreau, 29, of 394 West Main Road, was charged with failing to have his ignition interlock device system installed in his vehicle. The system was required following a driving-under-the-influence (DUI) charge, police said. Boudreau was pulled over on Turnpike Avenue around 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 19

Jarrad M. Kutsaftis, 19, of 19 Hillside Road, was charged with domestic assault, and simple assault, after officers responded to his home around 12:45 a.m. to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance, police said. The victim was a 35-year-old woman, according to police.

Stephen M. Comire, 34, of 960 Kingstown Road, Apt. 1, Wakefield, was charged with DUI, first offense, and possession of prohibited weapons other than firearms. Comire was pulled over on West Main Road at the Middletown line for speeding shortly before 3 a.m. He was also cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once.
