Alleged railroad track trespassers keep Portsmouth Police busy

PORTSMOUTH — Here are some recent arrests made by the Portsmouth Police Department:

Monday, June 23

Two people were charged with trespassing on a railroad right-of-way in the area of Railroad Avenue under the Sakonnet River Bridge at about 6 p.m. They were Evandro Gomes-Ramos, 26, of 214 Dover St., Brockton, Mass; and Ailton G. Nascimento, 30, of 94 Claremont Ave., Brockton, Mass. The area is privately owned by a business and numerous “No Trespass” signs are posted in the area, police said.

Tuesday, June 24

Two people were charged with willful trespass after officers responded to the area of Railroad Avenue under the Sakonnet River Bridge at about 5 p.m. to investigate a report of trespassing. They were Cun Lin, 58, of 15350 58th Road, Flushing, N.Y.; and Kong H. Chen, 36, of 15 Sea Tower Drive, Bridgewater, Mass.

Wednesday, June 25

Jewel M. Ribeiro, 40 of 1033 Eddy St., first floor, Providence, was charged with simple domestic assault, and driving without the consent of the vehicle’s owner. Ribeiro was picked up by Barrington Police on a Portsmouth warrant, and local police took custody of him at about 2:25 p.m.

Friday, June 27

Clayton Edward Frable, 59, of 999 Green End Ave., Middletown, was arrested at 585 Park Ave. around 3:40 p.m. on a warrant charging him with filing a false report of a crime. 

Saturday, June 28

Brandon N. Lachance, 20, of 349 Judson St., Apt. A, Tiverton, was charged with driving while impaired at about 1:20 a.m. His vehicle was pulled over on Route 24 North for speeding as well as having an inoperable license plate light, police said.

Sunday, June 29

Luis Jon Raposa, 21, of 41 Franca Drive, Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), first offense, on Sherwood Terrace shortly before 2 a.m. Raposa was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Nicholas Ryan Albernaz, 24, of 2 Faulkner St., Westport, was arrested on a warrant out of Newport after being pulled over for speeding on Route 24 North at Turnpike Avenue around 4:10 p.m. He was later released to the custody of the Newport Police Department.

Police arrested several individuals in the area of Railroad Avenue under the Sakonnet River Bridge between 5 and 6:30 p.m. The following were charged with trespassing on a railroad right of way: Sany Monteiro Da Rosa, 27, of 65 Intervale St., Brockton, Mass.; Jose Miranda Andrade, 36, of 25 Florence St., Brockton, Mass.; Erickson De Pina, 26, of 475 Chancery St., Apt. 2, New Bedford, Mass; and Emerson Brandao, 30, of 77 Waumbeck St., Dorchester, Mass., who was also charged with obstructing an officer in execution of duty. Rubem Correia Abreu, 37, of 27 East St., Apt. 3, Dorchester, Mass., was charged with obstructing an officer in execution of duty, and also cited for consumption in parks and on beaches.
