PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High girls’ varsity volleyball team continued its impressive season with a dominating 3-0 win over Chariho during Senior Night on Monday.

The home win improved the Patriots’ record to 14-1 in Division I play, with the team’s only loss coming against top-ranked and undefeated North Kingstown.

Chariho took Portsmouth to five sets earlier this season, but the Patriots rolled on Monday, posting scores of 25-19, 25-15, and 25-23.

For the Patriots, Caitlin Mediate had 22 assists and a kill, while Hailey Labonte had 14 kills and 11 digs. Mila Abedon had 10 digs and five assists, while Mia Randzaao had nine kills.

Grace MacLeod (three assists) and Erin O’Leary (seven kills) each had 13 digs for Chariho.

The Patriots’ junior varsity team also was victorious against Chariho on Monday, winning 2-0.

The varsity squad has two more games left in the regular season — against South Kingstown on the road Wednesday and at home against East Providence at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, in the PHS field house.
