To the editor:
Why does Westport Shorelines continue to publish the lengthy and sometimes incomprehensible rants from Will Newman? His May 5 opinion piece is just another example. He uses lots of words, too many in fact, and exceeds the 500 word limit by about 50%. Shorelines should enforce the 500-word limit and spare readers the extra suffering induced from his frequent opinions.
Mr. Will Newman touches on many subjects in his May 5 opinion, and I list some of them below:
* Putin-Trump
* Uncomfortable educational content
* Tax legislation
* Industrial/manufacturing policy
* Free market regulation
* Public education objectives and funding
* Supreme Court packing
* Climate change
* Health care expansion
The “stream of consciousness” presentation and absence of details and specifics are fundamental to Will Newman’s writings. He says nothing, and there is nothing to discuss. I do however think he is confused on the issue of packing the Supreme Court. It is rather, a far left agenda issue inspired by appointment of three conservative Justices by President Trump
