Tiverton police make numerous DUI arrests

Monday, Feb. 27

A 911 caller reported a suspicious person on Main Road at 2:17 p.m.

A Hooper Lane resident reported vandalism at 3:22 p.m.

A Fish Road resident reported identity theft at 3:55 p.m.

A caller reported suspicious activity on Old Stafford Road at 4:15 p.m. Police deemed the report unfounded.

A Bulgarmarsh Road caller reported vandalism at 5:26 p.m.

Steven M. Oliveira, 43, of 172 State Ave., Fall River, was charged with possession of weapons other than firearms, following a car stop at the intersection of Canonicus and Shove streets at 6:45 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 28

A caller from Bulgarmarsh Road reported theft at 12:21 p.m.

At least one person was taken to the hospital after police got a call about a suspicious vehicle on Stafford Road at 5:44 p.m.

Jared M. Chabot, 42, of 117 Bishop St., Fall River, was charged with possession of more than one ounce of marijuana after police pulled him over on Tiverton Casino Boulevard at 8:54 p.m.

Wednesday, March 1

David E. Paiva, 37, of 25 Terrace Ave., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, BAC unknown, after police pulled him over on the intersection of Main Road and Haskins Avenue at 12:28 a.m.

Logan Cantelmo, 18, of 333 Main Road, was charged with possession of weapons other than firearms after police received a complaint of a weapons violation at Tiverton High School at 10:50 a.m.

Jacob Thomas Rapoza, 34, of 560 Jefferson St., Fall River, was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and simple assault and/or battery. Police had no further information on the circumstances that led to the charges.

Thursday, March 2

A caller from Leger Lane reported theft at 12:02 p.m.

A Bulgarmarsh Road resident reported being harassed or threatened at 12:04 p.m.

Jose Duprey-Lopez, 36, of 33 Quequechan St., Fall River, was charged with possession of 10 grams or less of a Schedule I to V controlled substance, and obstructing an officer, after police responded to a disabled vehicle on Route 24 at 1:39 p.m.

Matthew H. Pacheco, 33, of 211 Bridle Way, was cited for having a dog at large, after police received an animal complaint at 3:13 p.m.

A caller reported suspicious activity on Highland Road at 3:59 p.m. Police deemed it unfounded.

Friday, March 3

A resident reported theft from a dairy on Stafford Road at noon.

Elias B. Gouveia, 43, of 926 Rodman St., Fall River, was charged with possession of 10 grams or less of a Schedule I to V controlled substance at the Tiverton Casino Hotel at 2:42 p.m.

Joseph Turner, 46, of 43 Durfee Road, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled him over on Main Road at 6:02 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a burglary/breaking and entering on Highland Road at 7:43 p.m. The caller made a second, similar call at 10:43 p.m. As a result, Yesenia E. De La Rosa Santana, 41, of 24 Montaup St., Fall River., was charged with two counts of domestic violation of a no contact order, obstructing an officer, reckless driving, drag racing or eluding police, driving under the influence of alcohol, BAC unknown, eluding law enforcement in a high speed pursuit, driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of license, and on a bench warrant issued by Second Division District Court.

Saturday, March 4

A Kaufman Road resident lodged a noise complaint at 8:23 a.m.

A 911 caller filed an animal complaint on Pond Ridge Drive at 12:08 p.m.

Police responded to a disturbance on Restful Valley Road at 12:46 p.m.

A Highland Road resident reported trespassing at 1:05 p.m. Police said no offense occurred.

A caller reported an erratic driver on Route 24 at 2:12 p.m.

Edilberto Sierra, 42, of 169 Montaup St., Fall River, was charged with two counts of eluding law enforcement in a high speed pursuit and two counts of reckless driving and other offenses against public safety. The arrest occurred after a traffic stop on Canning Boulevard at 5:08 p.m.

Police investigated a disturbance on Stafford Road at 8:50 p.m.

Jeremy Pereira, 42, of 507 President Ave., Fall River, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, BAC unknown, after police pulled him over on Fish Road at 9:13 p.m.

Sunday, March 5

A caller lodged an animal complaint from Crandall Road at 6:13 a.m.

A caller reported an erratic driver on Main Road at 5:28 p.m. Police said no offense occurred.

Monday, March 6

A Francis Lane resident reported Internet crimes at 10:25 a.m.

An officer was dispatched to Main Road at 2:49 p.m. to perform a wellness check on the operator of a vehicle near the entrance ramp of Route 24. The driver was OK.

A caller from Blue Jay Street reported larceny.

A Stoney Hollow Road resident reported receiving threats or harassment.

Tuesday, March 7

A Kenyon Road resident reported harassment or threats at 10:17 a.m.

Edward Brodrick, 54, of 63 Berry Lane, Bristol, was charged with trespassing, following a breaking and entering report called in by a Bulgarmarsh Road resident.

Basherah C. Yahya, 27, of 46 Rustic Drive, Leominster, Ma.,  was charged with willful trespassing and resisting arrest after police were called to the Tiverton Casino Hotel at 7:15 p.m.

Wednesday, March 8

Jason E. Reynolds, 43, of 413 Ocean Grove Ave., Swansea, was charged with  domestic felony assault and/or battery, domestic disorderly conduct and domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone, after a caller to 911 reported a domestic incident on Lawton Avenue at 1:09 a.m.

A caller rom Bayview Avenue reported suspicious activity at 3:56 p.m.

John Deasy, 39, of 1024 Main Road, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court bench warrant following a traffic stop on Main Road at 9:38 a.m.

A Mill Street resident reported larceny at 10:22 a.m.

Police were called to Pocasset Avenue at 1:18 p.m. for a landlord/tenant issue.

Adam J. Silveira, 51, of 16 Old Main Road, Little Compton, was summonsed for violating town ordinances by having a public animal nuisance. The incident was called in by a Main Road resident who reported an animal complaint at 4:42 p.m.

A caller reported an erratic driver on Route 24 at 5:03 p.m. Police looked for but could not locate the vehicle. A similar call came in 32 minutes later on Main Road.

A Maple Drive caller reported suspicious activity just before 6 p.m. Police said no offense occurred.

A Holly Circle resident reported a sexual offense at 6:11 p.m. Police had no further information.

Kevin S. Voorhis, 52, of 100 Harbor Ridge Lane, was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and simple assault and/or battery, after a caller from Harbor Ridge Lane reported being harassed or threatened at 7:40 p.m.

Joseph H. Fitzgerald, 52, of 33 Bluff Ave., was charged with domestic vandalism and domestic disorderly conduct, after police were called to Bluff Avenue at 8:44 p.m. via a 911 call reporting a domestic incident.

Thursday, March 9

A caller reported an erratic driver at Grinnell's Beach at 10:04. A police search turned up nothing.

A Lepes Road resident reported larceny at 11:24 a.m.

At least one child was injured when two cars collided on Route 24 at 2:33 p.m. Police reported that the injured were transported to Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

A 911 caller reported suspicious activity on Bulgarmarsh Road at 4:45 p.m.

A caller reported an erratic driver on Route 24 at 7:17 p.m. Police deemed the report unfounded.

A caller from Grinnell Avenue reported being harassed or threatened at 7:58 .m.

Police were called to Mill Street at 10:12 p.m. for a disturbance.

Friday, March 10

A 911 caller reported an erratic driver on Stafford Road at 7:06 a.m. Police said no offense occurred.

A caller from Kaufman Road reported a neighbor dispute at 11:04 a.m.

A caller from Harbor Ridge Lane reported trespassing at 4:18 p.m.

Darwin Andres Gonza Abril, 29, of 322 East Main St., Fall River, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, BAC .15 or greater, after police pulled him over on Tiverton Casino Boulevard at 7:40 p.m.

Saturday, March 11

A caller from Meadow View Lane reported vandalism at 7:26 a.m.

A 911 caller reported a structure fire on Glendale Street at 8:45 a.m. Fire crews extinguished the fire.

A Meadow View Lane reported a neighbor dispute at 1:13 p.m.

Jacob J. Belt, 66, of 13 Simpson Ave., Attleboro, Ma., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, BAC unknown, and reckless driving and other offenses against public safety, after a caller reported an erratic driver on Route 24 at 5:09 p.m.

A caller reported an erratic driver on Route 24 at 8:15 p.m. Police deemed the report unfounded.

Sunday, March 12

A 911 caller reported an erratic driver on Seapowet Avenue at 6:21 p.m. Police deemed the report unfounded.

Isaiah Thomas Lopes, 27, of 43 Cook St.,charged with domestic violation of a no contact order following a traffic stop on Main Road at 6:45 p.m.

Robert C. Laureanno, 52, of 3028 East Main Road, Portsmouth, was charged with making crank or obscene telephone calls.

Monday, March 13

At least one person was injured when three cars collided on Stafford Road at 7:52 p.m.
