Tiverton Litter Committee needs your help New Year's Day

Posted

Two New Year's Day plunges are scheduled for the Sakonnet area Wednesday — one at Sakonnet Harbor, and one at Grinnell's Beach. But if you're not interested in jumping in the water, there's something else happening — a cleanup in Tiverton.

In partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, the Tiverton Litter Committee has adopted a state road that could use a little extra help. On Wednesday, organizers will hold a cleanup from 1 to 2 p.m. at the adopted section, at the southern split of Old Stafford Road to the lights. It will be the first of several organized cleanups in the area, and volunteers who want to help should meet at the Dunkin Donuts at 1735 Stafford Road.

All supplies will be provided.
