The season of giving is upon us, meaning that many are not only anticipating giving out presents but getting them as well. However, the idea of what makes a great present can vary, as many people have different ideas on the matter. Here's what a few Sakonnet residents recall as their best Christmas gift ever:
Clare Gallagher
For some, a great Christmas gift transcends materialistic items and leads them to gifts for the soul. Take Clare Gallagher, a college student who returned home for Christmas. Coming from a family of 14 siblings, she says that her favorite gift was when her entire family was able to meet over the holidays.
“We’ll probably be able to do it again this year,” she said.
Jack LeFrancois
For some, the best memories come from long ago. Jack Lefrancois, who works at the Cheese Wheel at Tiverton Four Corners, expressed as much when discussing his favorite Christmas gift. He was 14 his uncle gave him a dirt bike, and he'll never forget it.
Casey and Marissa
Childhood memories also came from Casey Cullen, who said that her favorite gift was an American Girl doll that she got when she was a child. Her friend, Marissa Jesus, said that her favorite gift was a sled she got when she was a child.
“I was so excited seeing that thing, it was a big old present by the tree. I was very happy for that one.”
