Portsmouth High struts its stuff for Homecoming (photos)
PORTSMOUTH — Before the varsity football team celebrated a big win over East Greenwich, the entire Portsmouth High School student body showed its school spirit during the annual Homecoming parade.
Starting at PHS, the parade made its way down Education Lane before taking a right onto East Main Road, another right onto Dexter Street, and a final right onto Turnpike Avenue before ending back at the school.
Joe Cawley and Grace Van Patten were crowned Homecoming king and queen at halftime and rode in one of the five convertibles reserved for the court during the parade.
Other members of the court were Gavin Bicho and Ruth McKinnon, Will McKinnon and Mia Bartlett, Ronan Caulfield and Ashley Sullivan, and Andrew Lopes and Amory Kirwin.
The parade also featured the PHS Marching Band and dance team, cheerleaders, local and state officials, school administrators and of course the various floats representing each class.
