PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High School boys’ varsity soccer team kicked off the 2020 season with a 1-1 tie against Shea  at home Saturday afternoon.

PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High School boys’ varsity soccer team kicked off the 2020 season with a 1-1 tie against Shea  at home Saturday afternoon. 

All the scoring in the Division I game came in the first half, with goals by the Patriots’ Jack Dielawa and the High Raiders’ Alex Escamilla.

Nate Levine make six saves in goal for the Patriots. Shea’s goalkeeper, Tiago Fonseca, notched seven saves.

Both teams are now 0-0-1 in Division 1.

The Patriots will next face St. Raphael Academy in a home game starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17.

After that, the team will travel to Bristol for a non-league matchup against Mt. Hope at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 19.
