PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High boys’ soccer team couldn’t get the ball in the net in the first half against East Providence on Friday, Oct. 4.
The Patriots certainly made up for the scoring drought in the second half, however.
Portsmouth scored all of its goals in the second half en route to a 4-0 shutout of the Townies in the Division I matchup.
The Patriots’ Mike Tavares scored two goals, while Carsen Prater and Evan Brady added one apiece.
Prater, Niall Shea and John Maedke also had an assist each, and Sam Dinovella had four saves in goal for the Patriots.
The win improved Portsmouth’s record to 7-3.
Next up, the boys will travel to Cumberland High for a 4:30 p.m. game on Thursday, Oct. 10.
