PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High boys’ varsity hockey team defeated South Kingstown on Saturday for its third straight win.
The 5-1 victory over the Rebels at Portsmouth Abbey improved the Patriots’ record to 6-7 in Division II, and 8-8 overall. The team now sits in seventh place in the conference with two games to go.
The win followed up victories over Narragansett (6-3) on Feb. 7 and Middletown (6-1) on Feb. 4.
The Patriots will play its final two regular season games at the Abbey — against Coventry at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17; and against the Mt. Hope/East Providence co-op at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22.
