Police charge Tiverton woman with Fentanyl trafficking

TIVERTON — As a result of a multi-jurisdictional investigation, members of the Bristol County (Mass.) District Attorney’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested Veronica Reading, 36, of 16 Mill St., Tiverton, on drug trafficking charges.

On Wednesday, September 11, Ms. Reading was arrested in Fall River after officers said they observed her conducting a drug transaction.  During a subsequent search of her vehicle, police seized 270 baggies containing suspected Fentanyl, as well as $1,375 in cash.  She was charged with trafficking Fentanyl.

Immediately following Ms. Reading’s arrest, Tiverton Police, along with members of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office Narcotics Unit, executed a search warrant at her 16 Mill Street residence. 

During this search, officers located 7,011 glassine bags containing suspected Fentanyl with a street value of over $25,000. Police also seized $152,720 in cash. 

Ms. Reading will be charged in Rhode Island with possession with ntent to deliver a controlled substance (Fentanyl), and possession of a controlled substance (steroids).  

Ms. Reading is currently being held at the Bristol County House of Corrections. 

The investigation included roopers from the Massachusetts State Police along with officers from the Tiverton Police Department, Dartmouth Police Department, Bristol County Sheriff’s Department and the Fall River Police Department.
