Mark C. Elwell, 59, Glocester, formerly of Little Compton

Mark C. Elwell, 59, of Glocester, RI, passed away at home on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020.

Born on February 23, 1961, in Fall River, he was the long-time husband of Lisa (Wistow) Perron, and the son of Walter and Norma (Wordell) Elwell.

Mark was a self-employed carpenter for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his close family at the ocean and anywhere else outdoors.

Besides his wife Lisa and his parents Walter and Norma Elwell, Mark is survived by a daughter, Shayna Kimmig; a son, Dean Elwell; and two brothers, David Elwell and Bruce Elwell.

Funeral services will be private.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
