Letter: Little Compton has new website — take a look

Little Compton residents may be interested to know that the Town of Little Compton has recently launched a newly designed website at: www.littlecomptonri.org/. (The town’s former website address will lead you to the new site.)

As a Town Council member (speaking for myself and not on behalf of other council members), I am grateful to Town Clerk Carol Wordell, Town Administrator Tony Teixeira, and other town officials and employees for overseeing the transition to this new site design. While the previous site was useful, I believe the attractive new version will be easier to navigate and will provide more and better information to Little Compton residents, property owners, taxpayers, and others.

For instance, a home page link on the new site leads to the RI Secretary of State’s Open Meetings website, where agendas and minutes of most town boards and committee can be accessed. A menu under the home page tab, “For Our Residents,” provides links to, among other things, the Viewpoint Cloud online permitting system (building and fire permits), the Vision Appraisal tax assessment data base, some land evidence records, and various downloadable forms and documents. Other links lead to information about various town departments, as well as the websites of the Brownell Library, the School Department, and the Community Center.

The Town of Little Compton website remains a work in progress. As financial and personnel resources permit, I would like to see included on the website copies of the public documents accompanying the agendas of Town Council meetings. I’m sure town officials will be glad to receive feedback and suggestions about other features that could be added to or improved on the website. I encourage a visit to www.littlecomptonri.org/
